This lightweight, yet durable work apron is handmade in California using all American-made materials. Both luxurious enough to feel special, yet practical enough to handle the toughest jobs, this linen apron can go from preparing dinner parties in the kitchen to covering up in the studio to garden. Nickel-plated grommets and cotton twill tape ties give the apron a refined-yet-rugged quality. Complete with a pocket and a place to keep a towel for wiping hands or cleaning work surfaces, this apron anticipates your every need without sacrificing fit and form. The idea for this apron was sparked by a conversation designer Christina Weber of Studiopatró had while working on a photo shoot. The food stylist on set was looking for an apron that would protect her clothes and could stand up to the often-messy job, but that was also comfortable enough to wear all day. This exchange inspired Weber to utilize cross-back ties rather than the traditional neck strap, which can pull and strain the neck. The result is a versatile garment that can handle everything from the serious chef to the at-home cook, as well as uses outside the kitchen, such as crafting and gardening.
The straps on this apron can be tied loosely or snugly either in the back or front. Linen is a hard-wearing textile that launders well. For general cleaning, machine wash with cool to warm water with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. As linen dries quickly, the apron can air dry, or can be gently tumble-dried on a low setting, then removed when still damp. Ironing is optional. While linen naturally resists stains better than other fabrics, but it’s best to remove any marks quickly using a small dab of dish or laundry detergent and water. For tougher stains, try gently scrubbing with an old toothbrush.
Led by designer Christina Weber, Studiopatró is a two-person operation based out of a sun-filled studio in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. All of their products are produced locally and with American-made materials, which allows the team to build meaningful relationships with their cutters, screeners, sewing partners, and other local artisans. Her team oversees every detail of production, from the initial design through the tying on of ribbons and tags, to ensure their high level of quality remains consistent with every piece. Weber started Studiopatró as a way to explore her passion to design and create beautiful wares for the kitchen and home. She began her career as an art teacher, and later became a graphic designer. Her art and design experiences, combined with a love of cooking and baking, naturally led her to design this perfect work apron.
