This natural earthenware bowl will serve many purposes in your kitchen—it is suitable for baking and proofing bread, tossing and serving a salad or mixing brownie or cake batter. Each and every mixing bowl is made by hand by clay artisans in Virginia. The lip of the bowl helps to create a seal when proofing bread or storing leftovers in the refrigerator.
Oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Emerson Creek Pottery is named for the creek that runs through the former Emerson farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It was originally owned by James Emerson, uncle to famed philosopher and writer Ralph Waldo Emerson. In 1825, blacksmith Silas Wade acquired the land and built a two-room, two-story log cabin, now the headquarters of Emerson Creek Pottery. The clay for their handcrafted ceramics is formed of clay made onsite. Each piece is handmade, hand-painted and fired in a gas kiln.
