Stay refreshed with this simple but functional glass carafe. Lightweight and streamlined, the carafe fits comfortably in your hand and can be poured easily even when full. The spout is designed to be drip-free: It curves up and then straight down at the pouring end, so the liquid will flow back into the carafe when turned upright, reducing any mess. The wide mouth fits a spoon to stir up fruit, ice or cucumber slices. The carafe is machine-made for uniformity, using a soda-lime glass (the most common type of glass, known for its hardness and recyclability) specially formulated by the Japanese brand that makes the carafe. The material has clarity and brightness comparable to crystal, but it’s as strong as conventional soda-lime glass.
Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to preserve the longevity of the item.
The company that makes this carafe is the result of two of the oldest and largest glass companies in Japan merging together - one dating back as far as 1878. Throughout the 20th-century, the two businesses perfected their crafts by learning and adapting the best of European and Asian glassware methods. Today, the unified company continues to offer both handmade and machine-made products.
