This set of cheese knives and fork is made in Maniago, Italy, a center of steel blade production since the 15th-century. The stainless steel blades are met with a handle hewn from olive wood, prized in Italy for its unique and variegated graining pattern. The spade knife is best used for cutting through medium to hard cheeses, such as a Gruyère or a sharp cheddar. The spatula knife works best for soft cheeses, like a brie or goat's cheese. Use the fork to hold your cheese in place while cutting or slicing.
Hand wash in warm water and dry thoroughly immediately after cleaning to preserve the wood handles. The knives come in a 100% recycled cardboard storage box to protect the stainless steel blades from dulling.
The company that produced and designed this knife set was founded in 1912, specializing in farming tools. In 1952, after four generations of tool making, the family business decided to concentrate solely on knives for the home kitchen and professional butchery. Since then, it continues to innovate and improve its products.
