This lightweight, handheld pitter can take out the pesky pits in a pound of cherries or olives just as fast as you can load them up. Because it is made of solid die-cast aluminum—by a German company that has been making helpful kitchen gadgets for over 50 years—there is less risk of breaking or cracking as there might be with a plastic model.
Place cherry or olive so that it sits in the bottom roundel of the pitter (if you also want to de-stem a cherry, place the fruit stem side down) and simply squeeze to eject the pit.
In 1956, German inventor and entrepreneur Hubert Deimel began his kitchenwares company with one simple product—a potato peeler. This potato peeler, which he named “Famos,” had a slim body with a looped handle and straight blade. It worked so well that to this day, you will likely find one in any given German kitchen. Throughout the years, the catalogue of products has expanded, but each new item still sets out to maintain the high-function and design of that first potato peeler.
Lightweight, handheld olive and cherry pitter made of cast aluminum finished with a food-safe, non-stick coating. Ejects pits with one motion. Accommodates cherries or olives up to 1 inch. Made in Germany since 1956.
