why this product

Designed for serious hunters but also suitable for weekend campers, this multi-purpose knife folds compactly to travel with you. The stainless steel blade has a grade of 440 on the SAE steel grades system (set by the SAE International, a U.S. based professional organization that creates industry standards for engineering professionals in various industries), which means it is one of the highest quality cutlery knives available, with a hard, stain-resistant blade. The blade slips in and out of a handle hewn from olive wood, prized in Italy for its unpredictable and variegated graining pattern.

use & care

A notch at the top of the knife blade makes it easy to pull out. A lockback mechanism ensures that your knife stays open when you need it to. Fold knife into handle when not in use.

Check the locking notch of lockbacks regularly to ensure that it is working properly. Keep all sand and grit out of the knife. Keep the mechanisms clean.

Clean knife by applying an industrial lubricant or oil and scrubbing crevices with a toothbrush.

Do not use the cutting blade as a can opener, chisel, pry bar, screwdriver or for any heavy work for which your knife was not designed. Also, don't use the back of your knife as a hammer. It may break the springs, handles or pin.

The wood handle can occasionally be rubbed with furniture polish or oil.

Remember to keep your knife sharpened: a dull blade can be more dangerous than a properly maintained one.

production & design

The family business that designed and created this folding knife got its start in 1960. Its patriarch, Fervido Maserin, began working in a factory that produced knives, scissors and other tools for agriculture at the age of 14 in the 1940s. Taking his many years of experience, he began his own line of products, which has now expanded to include knives for military, outdoor, hunting and personal use.

Manufactured in Maniago, Italy, this folding knife comes from a history of steel blade production reaching back to the medieval 1500s. Due to its proximity to Venice, the old blacksmiths of Maniago were permitted to use the streams to cool and cut their steel during tool production.
