Razor blades have done more than leave countless faces feeling refreshed over the decades. They help make threats, hold hostages, and even win Tony awards. While Muehle’s double-edged razor blades were not exactly what the murderous Sweeney Todd reached for, they still conjure up a thrill for wet shavers everywhere. These blades may seem too sharp for their own good, but toss them into Muehle’s safety razor, and you will rest easy knowing that your nostalgic boldness can’t go too far.
The razor-sharp, stainless steel edges are hardened in Sweden with chromium, ceramic and tungsten. They are then platinum-coated, precision-perforated and ground to a tee. Muehle’s razor blades make pop-off cartridges look like butter knives.
It's a killer edge, but a polymer coating makes for a comfortable shave.
Perforated to fit classic safety razors.
In the wrong hands, a sharp blade is more lethal than a dull one. But tucked into a safety razor a sharp blade will ultimately leave you with fewer nicks, and require less digging into your skin than a blunted counterpart.
While all safety razor blades need eventual replacing, it is hard to predict when each blade will give in. Depending on your hair type and frequency of use, the blade may have to be replaced from between one month to several, so judge by feel, once it seems to be going dull, replace it.
And consider yourself lucky when you see your barber giving his straight razor a good leather stropping, you can always toss and reload these at the drop of a hat.
