As a young and fast growing company, change is part of the everyday here at KM, while at the same time we work to establish things that last.
For us, change in the last month meant switching our website from Shopify to Spree. Our new shopping cart system allows us to integrate many more interesting features to our site. You can see this today with the redesign of our landing page and also during checkout. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out even more new features for both our U.S. and fast growing group of international customers.
We also recently switched our inventory management system from Shipedge to Orderbot. Here is where modern technology meets the physical reality of products having to get to you on time. I apologize for any delays or problems you might have experienced over the last few months when navigating our site, or waiting for a product to arrive.
Our longtime customers and readers might have noticed we’re getting more involved in what can best be described as marketing. When you surf the web, you can see our advertising. We now do collaborations and giveaways with like-minded companies. We’ve created an “Our vs. Theirs” comparison series and we added “Why Kaufmann Mercantile” to our website to better explain our mission.
The goals of marketing are well known, but we also want to utilize our campaigns to make a clear statement about what we do. And when we make bold statements, our actions must follow. Otherwise we aren’t credible.
Even with these changes, our mission is – and will continue to be – the same. We work hard to find and develop the best products with the best makers out there. We want to create products that last, and that you’ll love forever.
A simple concept. But maybe also a radical change from the norm.
